David McKnight has been practicing as an Ophthalmologist in Ballarat since 1989. He works at the Ballarat Eye Clinic and in Melbourne at Brighton Eye Surgery (ph 9592 4863) and The Alfred Hospital.

He now divides his time between Melbourne and Ballarat.

In Melbourne, he attends The Alfred Hospital as a Teaching/Visiting Medical Officer and also consults privately at Brighton Eye Surgery. He operates at both the Alfred hospital (incl Sandringham) and at Cabrini Hospital, Brighton.

David’s experience in ophthalmology is extensive.

Cataract surgery is a special interest having performed several thousand cases. He teaches and supervises Registrars at The Alfred in this surgery.

He is very comfortable with all aspects of Ophthalmology. These include, but are not limited to, medical and surgical management of glaucoma,

Oculoplastic procedures including dacryocystorhinostomy, ectropion/entropion, lid tumours and ptosis.

He is also happy to consult and manage cases of ocular inflammation such as uveitis.Medical Retina management of diabetes and Macular Degeneration is available, including anti VEGF injections.
